NL Hold’em Poker- Howard Lederer?
Howard Lederer lived in a family of five where he enjoyed playing different card games when he was young. He discovered himself getting very aggressive in these particular card games while playing his dad. After finishing Sr. High school, Howard decided to place higher education on hold for a bit and moved to New York to compete in some serious chess. While competing in chess, he was introduced to a poker game going on in the rear of the room. Howard’s 1st 2 years were difficult as he would play countless hours and fail to win a majority of the time. He earned some additional cash by being an assistant for the poker enthusiasts. He believed he possibly could better his game by analyzing his life away from poker. He brought about an attempt to get more rest and concentrate even more on poker.
The actual improvement in his game began when he started gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the best gamblers would often play against one another. Howard had access into some of the greatest players in chess. With their help, Howard would tweak his strategic thinking techniques. Howard applied these strategic concepts to the game of NL texas hold’em.
Howard also helped his sister Annie Duke master the game of poker. Annie was a superb student of the game as she would consistently be asking questions about how to make the proper choice. He told Annie to move out to Sin City and play in the World Series of Poker tournaments. Annie is one of the greatest women players the poker world has ever seen. Howard Lederer moved to Las Vegas in Nineteen Ninety Three and participated in money games for the subsequent decade. When the World Poker Tournament grew in popularity, Howard made the decision to compete in more tournaments.
