Net High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only participant to make it to the last poker table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest enthusiasts anywhere in the world. While competing in internet poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. He frequently competes in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen frequently buys in for the minimum of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He waits for a good hand and then goes all-in. I accept that Gus is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is broke, he has absolutely no reason to settle at the table with the min buy in.

Playing for the minimum takes a majority of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is assumed to be 1 of the greatest poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the total amt.. I believe television can skew our perception of the real world at times. The greatest poker players in the world might just be players you have never heard of. Gus can be seen gambling on online poker on Full Tilt. He commonly competes in big stakes omaha/8 and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his abilities in money games?
