Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with ancient origins. Built on the old Chinese domino game and the modern American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker joins the eastern with the wild west in a fantastic game for new gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler versus the house, unlike almost all other poker games that players wager with other gamblers. By competing against the dealer, new players do not have to worry about other, more knowledgeable players taking their moolla.
One more Pai Gow edge is the fairly leisurely game play, rookies can take their time and plan while not having to make quick selections.
It is also easier to gamble on for a long time with basically a little bit of money since, to lose, both of your hands must be under both of the houses hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The player is given seven cards face up and the house gets seven cards face down.
A 5 card hand and one 2 card hand must be put together from the 7 cards dealt, the five card hand must be stronger than the 2 card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand totals to be better than the houses.
