Internet High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to achieve final table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a large pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest enthusiasts anywhere in the world. While competing in web poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. Gus often participates in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of $40, 000. Gus generally buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very weak. He waits for a decent hand and then goes all in. I accept that Gus is an excellent poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is penniless, he has little or no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy in.
Playing for the min takes most of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is accepted to be 1 of the best players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amount. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The greatest poker players in the world might just be guys you have never heard of before. Gus can be found competing in internet poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in high stakes omaha high and hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his skills in money rounds?
