Pai Gow Poker is a current game with ancient ancestry. Based on the old Chinese tile game and the current American version of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the eastern with the west in an excellent game for new gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler vs. the dealer, unlike almost all other poker games that gamblers play with other gamblers. By wagering against the dealer, beginner players do not need to worry about any other, more skillful gamblers taking their money.
An additional Pai Gow advantage is the generally leisurely game play, rookies will be able to take their time and plan without having to make hasty choices.
It’s also much simpler to play for a very long time with just a little amount of money seeing as, to not win, each of your hands must be under both of the casino’s hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the normal 52-card standard deck and one joker. The gambler is assigned seven cards face up and the casino gets 7 cards face down.
A five card hand and one 2 card hand need to be made from the seven cards, the five card hand must be higher than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand totals to be higher than the dealer’s.
