No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker player on the globe by many of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His grandpa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to discover anything he could about the game. Phil would tell his grandparents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the negative feedback from other people kill his ambition of being one of the best poker players on the planet.
Phil started playing intently after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first few years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and winning was not a common thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he destroyed many of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his success to hard work and an eternal love for poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making errors in each session of poker and always strives to get better.
Although Ivey has come first in some big-time tournaments, he favors destroying money games on a normal basis.
